Welcome to Wild Geese Sanctuary

Hello and welcome to Wild Geese Sanctuary. My name is Natasha Salemme and I am a licensed mental health counselor (license #LH60545198) and licensed massage therapist (license #MA61653117). I refer to myself as a “body therapist” because I focus primarily on helping individuals process, heal, and release patterns of trauma and stress held in their bodies. My main offering at this time is biodynamic massage - a modality that helps to access and release emotional and physical traumas stored in the body. I specialize in working with people of all ages with:

  • Symptoms related to PTSD, anxiety, or depression

  • Physical injuries/traumas (including MVAs)

  • Chronic health challenges and chronic pain

  • Sexual trauma history

  • Symptoms related to OCD, ADHD, ADD

  • Nervous system dysregulation and hypervigilance

  • Aches and pains related to being a human stressful times

  • Cancer or cancer recovery

  • Current or post pregnancy

I was a traditional mental health therapist for 13 years before becoming a body therapist. While I believe traditional therapy is helpful and supportive for many people, I find that specific massage techniques are more effective at accessing and healing trauma. Biodynamic massage therapy helps work through the protective muscular and fascial barriers that surround our physical and emotional injuries and helps to access, unwind, and release deeper layers of stored pain and trauma. The biodynamic approach helps heal the root of our symptoms and helps us to reunite with the wholeness of our being.

As a biodynamic practitioner, I consider my role to be a guide, facilitator, support person, cheerleader, and lantern holder to aid in your healing journey. I offer my presence, guidance, and care as we explore your inner landscapes and terrain - from the darkest and most excruciating, to the most warm and blissful, and everything in between. I am with you as you access, unwind, and heal from deep rooted patterns of pain, wounding, and trauma and when you reconnect with your inner resources and light. I share tools, insights, and guidance along the way, but I do not consider myself to be an “expert” or any more knowledgeable or capable than you. I provide presence, loving-kindness, authenticity, encouragement, and humor, as well as tea and chocolate, in our shared time together.

Biodynamic Massage

About Biodynamic Massage

Developed by Todd Jackson in Portland, Oregon, biodynamic massage is the marriage between biodynamic craniosacral therapy and deep tissue massage. It is a therapeutic modality helpful in accessing and releasing emotional and physical traumas held in the body, repairing and regulating the nervous system, and …

Many of us carry unhealed emotional wounds and traumas in our bodies. These may be related to pain we’ve endured over the course of our life, passed down from our ancestry, or absorbed from society. When left unprocessed, our held emotions, pain, and traumas can create a wide range of symptoms, including mental and emotional health issues, fatigue, digestive problems, diseases, and a variety of physical ailments.*

In our natural state of wholeness, our energy is flowing and we are able to process a wide range of emotions and life experiences. We are relaxed, joyful, and at ease. However, if we have experienced intense and/or repeated injuries, stresses, or traumas, and have not had the time, resource, or support to process them, our energy stagnates and densifies. Not only do emotions and traumas get stuck, but our life force energy and vitality are blocked as well. Biodynamic bodywork can help unwind these patterns and gently guide us back to the wholeness of our being.

*If you are interested in learning more about how unhealed trauma impacts our health, please refer to work by Bessel van der Kolk (author of the book, The Body Keeps the Score) and Gabor Mate (author of books, When the Body Says No, Scattered Minds, and In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts).
